One Month
Well it has been a month already since our little Kendilyn has come into our lives and we feel so blessed to have her with us. It certainly has been a month of adjustments for sure, but I think we are starting to get the hang of things and are enjoying having a new family member. We can’t believe how fast she is growing. We love to just watch her and all her fun little movements and face expressions. She is quite strong as she has begun to hold her head up quite well, and stands on her legs with help of holding her of course. She is starting to roll over on her sides and tries to pull herself up when we are holding her. She has quite the little kicks too. She is starting to stay awake a little bit more during the day which is quite fun. We lay her on the floor and she just kicks and waves her arms all over. She has been to her first wedding , first track meet watching Aunt Sammy, and her first real road trip to Stanley for graduation. She travels quite well and seems to enjoy the drives so far thankfully seeing as mom and dad like to go on quite a bit of those. Something I have really enjoyed is watching Weaton with her. He has a cute way of playing and talking with her. He is such a good father and I could not imagine having anyone else to share the role with. Below are a few pictures from the last month!

Happy Mother's Day!
Wishing all the mothers out there a very happy Mother’s Day! I still don’t know if it has really sunk in for Clerissa that she is now a mother, but we are very happy to have little Kendilyn in our lives! We are also very grateful for our own mothers that have already done so much for us in helping with Kendilyn. Grandma Green came out on the 16th of April and spent two weeks with us helping us settle in with a new member of the family. She is really creative and talented and had fun making things for us and Kendilyn while she was out here. Attached are some pictures of some of the things that she made! We are glad that she could spend that time here and look forward to seeing her again in June!
We’re also very grateful for my own mother Grandma Forsgren and for coming down a few times to help out! She first came down when we were still in the hospital and helped out for a few days until Grandma Green got here. After that she came down a couple more times including this last week when she stayed with Clerissa while I was at a mandatory school campout for my IBC classes. We are very grateful for her help and having her here!
Thanks again to both of you! We love you and hope you have a wonderful Mothers Day!

Foot Prints
Little Kendilyn is growing and learning everyday! We're enjoying watching her develop more interesting in her surroundings. She'll sit for long stretches now kicking and waving her arms and looking all around. Unfortunately she likes to do that at night time when her parents would like to get some sleep. It wouldn't be too bad except that about the time we're about asleep she'll give a little shout to remind us that she is there. I'm sure most of you parents reading this can relate to that! Anyways in this post are some pieces of artwork that Clerissa made for her sister Katie. I think that the pictures turned out quite well, but if you look closely you can find out how Kendilyn also helped out in these pictures!

Our Growing Family
It has been an eventful year for our family! A year ago Clerissa and I (Weaton is writing this) got married, but that is a different story. Our story now is about a new member of the family that came into our lives on April 13th this year. On Saturday the 12th Clerissa had been feeling a lot of cramping pains and called into to her doctors office to find out if she needed to do anything, but they told here that cramps at this point were normal and that she didn't need to worry about it. That night was a little restless for us and in the earlier hours I ended up moving to the couch for awhile. At about 9 a.m. I was thinking I needed to get moving when Clerissa walked in and said that she thought her water broke and that it was time to go! So I hurried and got ready and got her to the car and by 9:30 we were at the hospital. At first the nurses there didn't really seem to believe that her water had broke and weren't in a very big hurry, but after some further test they finally confirmed that was true. The challenge was that our little baby was being stubborn and was breech. We tried numerous tactics to try to get her to spin around, but as we found out in the hospital those techniques did not work and she was still breach. The nurses called in the doctor and before we knew what was going on Clerissa was being prepped for a C-section, something we had really wanted to avoid. Clerissa was rushed off to another room and then they had me dress down like a "space man" so that I could go in the operation room during the C-section. In the room they had me sit by Clerissa's head (she was awake during it all), but they did have a curtain between us and the doctors doing the operation. They told me I could stand and watch if I wanted, but I feared getting sick so I just sat and waited anxiously for everything to happen. It didn't take them long to get things done and at 11:17 a.m. Kendilyn Rae Forsgren was born! She was a little girl weighing in at 6 pounds 2 ounces and 19.25 inches long! I must say at that moment it was all a little overwhelming for me and a lot to take in! Because of the method of delivery used we only got a quick look at our little girl before she was rushed off to the N.I.C.U. for monitoring and verification that she was doing well. They let me watch much of the proceedings from a window in the operating room. Initially they had said that if all was well Clerissa would be able to hold Kendilyn shortly after the operation, but it turns out Kendilyn's temperature was lower than it should have been and so they kept her on a warming bed for awhile. Eventually they let me go into that room and hold her for the first time! I don't know if words can really explain the experience but it was certainly exciting to finally see and hold the little girl we had been waiting for over the last 9 months! Now it's hard to believe that it has already been almost 2 weeks since she joined our family! How the time fly's! Kendilyn is growing quite well and loves to eat and sleep like most babies! We have even seen a few smiles appear on her face and that is very exciting for parents to see! We are excited to watch her grow, learn, and progress and we will try to keep this blog updated with her progress and other exciting events in our lives!
